1. Data We Collect
To create a book, we collect the child's name and birth details, your story choices, any dedication or special details you add, an optional photo and your email address. Mollie processes your payment information.
2. How We Use Your Data
Birth details are used to calculate astrological charts and generate personalized book content. Your email is used to send order confirmations and book delivery notifications. We do not sell your data or send your child's information to advertising platforms.
3. Data Storage
We store the information and generated files needed to provide your book and library access. Our AI and hosting providers process relevant inputs, including an optional photo, to create and deliver your book. Mollie processes payment details; we store order and payment status.
4. Your Rights

5. Analytics and campaign measurement
We use Umami, self-hosted on our own analytics server in the EU, to count page visits and actions such as starting a book, opening checkout and completing payment. Your browser sends these events to starborntales.com, and our server checks them and passes them on to Umami. The analytics events we send exclude names, email addresses, birth details, photos, access tokens and book or order identifiers. Private book and chart URLs are replaced with generic paths. Our server passes your IP address and browser information to Umami without storing them. Umami uses them to estimate your approximate location and to generate a pseudonymous identifier that rotates daily. It does not store raw IP addresses in its analytics database. It respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, and does not record sessions or add cookies or browser storage.
If you arrive through one of our ChatGPT ads, we keep an ad label and timestamp in this browser tab. We use that label for campaign attribution for up to 30 minutes. If you start payment during that time, we also save the campaign and ad labels with your order. This lets us count paid orders even if you do not return to the site after payment. These labels describe the ad. Campaign labels remain in our order records; you can contact us to request deletion.
This measurement does not use advertising cookies or send order details to an advertising platform. We do not use Google Analytics.
6. Cookies and browser storage
We use cookies for authentication, language and the currency shown for your region. Browser-tab storage also helps recover your unfinished book choices and avoid counting the same analytics event twice. See our cookie policy for details.
