What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences. We use cookies for authentication, language and regional currency. We also use browser-tab storage, as described below.
Cookies we use
i18n_locale
Remembers your language preference so we can show the site in your chosen language on return visits.
Authentication cookies
These cookies keep you signed in if you use a site account. You can also access your library through a link sent to your email.
geo_currency
Remembers the currency selected for your region for up to one year.
Analytics and browser-tab storage
We use Umami on our own analytics server in the EU to count page visits and actions such as starting a book or completing payment. The events we send exclude names, email addresses, birth details, photos, access tokens and book or order identifiers. We do not use Google Analytics or advertising cookies for this measurement.
Session storage belongs to the current browser tab. We use it to avoid counting the same event twice and to recover an unfinished book draft for up to 30 minutes after its last saved change. Draft recovery includes the details and choices you entered, including an email address if provided. It keeps a reference to an uploaded photo, not the photo itself. Draft recovery is cleared when the site confirms payment.
When you arrive through one of our ChatGPT ads, we store a recognized ad label and timestamp in this tab. We use it for attribution for up to 30 minutes. If you start payment during that window, we save the campaign and ad labels with your order so we can count paid orders even without a return visit. No child details or advertising click identifiers are included in these labels. Labels saved with an order remain in our order records; contact us to request deletion. Clearing browser storage does not remove an existing order record.
Third-party cookies
When you make a payment, our payment provider Mollie may set cookies necessary for processing your transaction securely. These cookies are governed by Mollie's own cookie policy.
How to manage cookies
You can delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Blocking them may affect sign-in, remembered preferences and draft recovery.
